From the photographer:
This wedding was fantastic. It was Scottish inspired, as the bride and her family are Scottish. It was very eclectic, but in an elegant, creative and beautiful way. There were so many details. It was a small untraditional wedding; they had Pendleton Wool Blankets that were embroidered on the back of the chairs, which every guest got to take home, the bride's cloak was also made of Pendleton wool, as well as the grooms vest. It was in a lodge located in Leavenworth, Washington; a German inspired town that looks like you are in the Bavarian Swiss alps next to in orchard in the fall.
From the bride: "My (now) husband and I have always been into costuming and fun, so when it was time to plan our wedding the theme of 1920’s was an easy pick. It was a great way to incorporate the older generation of family members to get involved and the costumes, and ultimately ended up loosening up the whole party and uniting our many groups of friends and family. Having such a fun theme made decorating decisions and planning all much clearer. We did things simply, keeping the whole wedding under $6000. The venue was outside and while we were nervous about the weather we were blessed with a sunny late June afternoon for our nuptials. We asked guests to dress up but provided a prop table to add a little 20’s pizzazz to classic wedding outfits. My dress was a creamy lace, and while not 100% 20’s style, defiantly had a nod, united with a feather headband and era style makeup. Tables had glitz, glam, and feathers – sticking to our gold and black scheme. Lots of pieces were borrowed and put together by family, the day and months preceding were all a group effort. Our band played jazz & lindy hop music, we brought cigars and one guest even brought a tommy gun for a prop! The theme kept things classy while bringing in a fun element."

Michaela's and Sam's small, charming Langley, B.C. wedding, photographed by Courtney Price Photography, was simple, but full of joy. This group looks like they had so much fun together!

This beautiful wedding at Broadway Hall in Bellingham, photographed by Courtney Price Photography. Meredith and Dan's wedding is simple with a personal touch, and we just adore the wildflowers and Meredith's birdcage veil.
We just love this colorful, joy-filled wedding from Katheryn Moran Photography. And could this bride look any happier? Kelly lights up every photo she's in, and Oscar's no slouch either! We love a groom that takes such an active role in the wedding!

Katheryn says: Kelly Runerstrand and Oscar Alvidrez had been engaged for about a year prior to their wedding date. I did an engagement shoot with them in Portland with the same theme that turned out great. See it here.
I had known these two for quite some time as friends before I shot their wedding, so it was a real treat to be there and meet all their extended family and friends. This venue isn't used often in Bellingham, but it provided so many great backdrops for photos and had lots of awesome natural light. I loved this theme, although it was a funny choice because Oscar, the groom, is color blind. Nonetheless, he hand-stitched each of the groomsmen's shirts with collar and cuff lining to match the color they were in the wedding party. Most of the giant wedding party knew each other because they all went to school together.
