Bridal shows are a fantastic source of information. Whether you want to know what's on trend in bridal gowns this year, or if there's anyone that can create the cake of your dreams, there will be someone that can answer your question. Wedding professionals in all specialties display their work so you can get a taste of what they offer and if it works for your style, which makes the shows great timesavers in your wedding planning process.
A show also makes a fun outing! Bring along your bridesmaids, mother, or friends for an exciting wedding-filled day. Pick up free prizes, taste the food from bakeries and caterers, try a free dance lesson, and check out the trends at a fashion show. And you can sneak in some wedding planning while your friends enjoy themselves!
We have some tips and tricks to make the shows work best for you:
REGISTER EARLY. Buying your tickets online can sometimes mean a discount, and you'll probably face less of a wait at the registration desk. Registering early might also come with perks, like an extra entry into the show's raffle or coupons for vendors.
DRESS COMFORTABLY. Seeing everything at the show will take some time, and you'll likely be on your feet for most of the day. And pack light - you'll be adding to your load with every stop.
DON'T RUSH. Walk down every aisle and collect all the information you can. That vendor you walked right by might just be perfect for your wedding.
BRING ADDRESS LABELS OR BUSINESS CARDS. Many vendors have table drawings, and preprinted cards will save you from writing your name and contact information over and over again. Be sure to include your email address and wedding date, if you've set it.
TAKE NOTES AND ASK QUESTIONS. Write your thoughts on the back of the vendor's business card, or mark the cards of vendors you like with a star. It might be difficult to remember your favorites after seeing so much.
PACK YOUR CHECKBOOK OR CREDIT CARD. When you find the right wedding professional, you'll want to reserve their services right away, and many require a deposit.
