The sun has set on Semiahmoo Resort’s wedding venue days.
Located 25 minutes north of Bellingham on the Semiahmoo spit, the Semiahmoo Resort has long been regarded as one of the premier wedding venues in Northwest Washington. It was voted Best Northwest Destination Site by Seattle Bride Magazine 2006, 2007 and 2010 and its elegance and ocean-view charm, along with its variety of venue settings, spacious guest accommodations and full-service spa made it the perfect place to say, “I do.”
But, in October of this year, the Skagit Tribe, part owners of the resort, announced that it would close its doors on December 1. Its closure marks a real loss for the wedding community, and it is uncertain whether the resort will reopen as a wedding venue in the future. For a recap of the resort’s history and closure, please visit The Northern Light.
