Getting to know Oleta Lane Films
Tell us a little bit about Oleta Lane films.
Oleta Lane Films is named after my two grandmothers, Oleta and Elaine. Both of them had beautiful, long-lasting marriages filled deeply with love and respect for one another; they have both been huge role models to me throughout my life. Oleta Lane Films really focuses on creative, romantic and non-invasive film work. We want our clients to feel like they know us and feel comfortable around us on their best day ever. We never ask anyone to pose or do anything they wouldn't already be doing. We're all about capturing the moments as they happen.
How did you get into wedding film?
I love everything about weddings, and it finally hit me one day that I could capture weddings for everyone and anyone! I love love, and where can you find more love than at a wedding? It is seriously the best job ever.
What is unique about your wedding film?
Our non-invasive and romantic approach is what sets us apart. A lot of other videographers have different editing techniques that are cutting edge and cinematic, but our films are about the intimacy of your day, with soft transitions and creative design. We will also never ask you do anything you're not already doing, which we find to be a game changer for the aesthetic we're trying capture.
What is your favorite part of filming weddings?
The first look is my absolute favorite part of the day. It gets me every time in the editing room, too. I'm not crying, you're crying!
What is your favorite wedding moment you have captured on film?
I recently filmed a wedding where the groom had two young children and the bride had two young children, and the four children consisted of the bridal party, so the six of them stood up at the front for the entire ceremony. It was so emotional for everyone, and the youngest daughter (around 5-6 years old) could not stop crying happy tears and it made me cry! It was so beautiful.
