Q & A with Sirius Wood Fired Pizza & Catering
What is the story behind Sirius Wood Fired Pizza and Catering?
The story behind Sirius is a love story. Chuck and Holly first laid eyes on each other in high school English class in Kents Hill, Maine. 33 years, 14 moves and four kids later, Chuck retired from the Army and Sirius was born, named for the brightest star in the night sky, the star the kids wished on every night for their dad to come home safely from Iraq.
What kind of pizza do you specialize in?
Neapolitan thin crust, our style, is popular back East where we are from, and in Europe. Our recipes and techniques tell the story of our life and travels, so most of our pizzas have their own stories: The Margherita? Chuck developed a love for it in Europe and mastered this classic in 13 time world Champion Tony Gemignani school. Tony is the only person who is not from Naples to ever win the best Margherita in Naples at their annual competition. Flammkuchen, a creation from Southern Germany, where Chuck was stationed for three years. The New York? A popular topping combination from New York where Holly went to college. The Charlie? Our son Charlie's creation and our most popular pizza. Dozens of menu items to choose from and each with a story of their own.

What advice would you give to couples in regards to catering?
Pick someone you click well with. This is the big day; you are starting your life as a married couple. Hire a professional and then use their advice to help you create a plan that will make your event the best it can be. Ask caterers how many events they have done in the last year, and read their online reviews to see what their past clients are saying. And make sure your caterer is licensed and experienced.
