Let’s get something straight: we’re filmmakers. If you want raw, authentic, story-driven videography, then we’re your gals. We want to make your video more than a document – it should be a freakin’ movie.
Q & A with Talking to Crows
Tell us a little bit about Talking to Crows.
Talking To Crows is a female-majority film production company located in Bellingham. We are storytellers first and foremost – cinematic video is what we do. We established TTC in 2013 and have since produced an array of commercial and creative work. We've just wrapped our first feature film, a true story about a woman from Bellingham, called Just Like the Men. Our approach to commercial work is much like our approach to narrative filmmaking; we want every video we create to feel like a movie.
How did you get into wedding film?
Our experience in wedding videography has been editorial. By participating in collaborative shoots with other wedding vendors we've been able to create concept wedding reels that are high fashion and driven by story.
What is unique about your wedding film?
We approach all our projects like we're making a movie: we want to bring a fresh, cinematic lens to wedding videography. We're not your typical wedding videographers. We're a playful, female-led team ready to get creative with any couple. We want your wedding video to feel like a trailer to the best romance film ever made.
What is your favorite part of filming weddings?
Capturing people's love is simply the best. Our goal of every wedding video is to capture all the small moments that create the feeling of the day. From the couple, to the food, to all their friends and family who've come to support them – we capture all the details to tell the story of the day. Weddings are hard work, and it's truly an honor to be a part of the celebration.
What is your favorite wedding moment you have captured on film?
Our favorite moment was actually an engagement shoot! The bride to be didn't know we were going to be there and we hid behind bushes like paparazzi. It was very exciting and touching.
