Q & A with Brianna Parks Photography

How did you get into wedding photography?

I got into wedding photography pretty much right after I picked up a camera. I tried my hand at portrait photography but could never seem to connect to my clients. It wasn't until I photographed my first couple where I knew I had found my calling in the wedding industry.

What is your specialty/style when it comes to wedding photography?

My specialty and style when it comes to wedding photography could be summarized by three words: candid outdoor weddings. I believe nature is the most perfect backdrop for a ceremony, and that the day should be completely personalized to the couple. There is nothing I love more than documenting such a happy moment, without the fluff of stiff poses and rigid timelines.

What do you love about photographing weddings?

Everything! I specifically love the joy that comes with weddings. It's such a magical day where everyone is so happy, and it's so refreshing to see.

Do you have any advice for camera-shy couples?

Be yourself, relax, and trust your photographer. Trust me, we know how uncomfortable it is to be in front of a camera. We're here to guide you and relax your nerves. One of my favorite tips is to create a playlist you can play while taking photos. It helps relax the nerves and calm you down.

What is your all-time favorite wedding moment you’ve captured?

Most recently, I photographed an elopement along the coast of Northern California. We saw a total of 5 people throughout the entire day, and best of all, the couple's images got photobombed by a seal who washed on shore while the sun began to set. It was magical.
