Q & A with Marysville Opera House
What is the story behind the Marysville Opera House?
The International Order of Odd Fellows built the hall in 1911 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, and is the only building on that list in Marysville. Since it was built, the building has been put to a variety of uses. It was a silent movie theater, a roller rink, at one point there was a shooting range in the basement. It was the community gathering spot. It has been a venue for live performances throughout history. In more recent years, the building served as an underage dance club known as Cheetah’s. Since 1998, the building was revamped to the beloved private wedding venue as is more commonly known today. The city of Marysville took over the building in 2015 and since then has revitalized the live performances and community events, however the venue is still best loved for private rentals and intimate weddings.
