Q and A with the Northwest Maritime Center

What’s special about the location of Northwest Maritime Center?

The Northwest Maritime Center is located right on the water with 360° panoramic views at the end of Port Townsend's main street.  Our facilities are LEED Gold Cerified.  We have both indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces available.  We have dock access and a Boatshop on site.

If someone came into your venue with only five minutes to see what sets it apart, what would you show them? 

I would show them our Maritime Meeting Room, with its wood floors and views of Port Townsend Bay, Mount Rainier and the Olympics.  We would walk outside on the Meeting Room's Deck, then take a quick peek at the Mezzanine in the next building, which overlooks the Boatshop.

What’s customizable about the Northwest Maritime Center wedding experience?

Though we have an all-encompassing wedding package, all of the options are also available a la carte.  Our main room can be divided in half to accommodate more intimate gatherings.  We have many A/V options available as well as linen and tableware rentals on site.  Optional add-ins include a popcorn maker.  The spaces can be decorated to fit your vision.  You choose your vendors, and food trucks are welcome.

What’s a wedding trend Northwest Maritime Center can really get behind?

The Northwest Maritime Center strives to be friendly to the environment.  In decorating, earth and ocean tones fit well here.  On another note, we are excited to welcome more food trucks.

You’re a dog-friendly venue, do you see a lot of pups in bow ties at your weddings?

Dogs often make an appearance in their best garb, particularly at our beach-side outdoor ceremonies.
